Analysis of PE pipe quality problems and their solutions

Unexpected quality problems often occur during the production of PE pipes, which are generally caused by problems with equipment or raw materials. The following Asian fluid network has compiled several common PE pipe quality problems, the causes of quality problems and solutions, for your reference.
First, the surface of the pipe appears corrugated
Reasons: 1. Insufficient cooling; 2. Improper size of seal ring, forming vibration phenomenon.
Solution: Increase the amount of water entering the sizing sleeve or increase the distance between the mouthpiece and the sizing sleeve. Check whether the size of the vacuum tank sealing ring is small. If it is small, replace or reduce the vacuum of the first vacuum tank properly and increase the vacuum of the second vacuum tank.
Second, the pits on the surface (mainly the inner wall)
Reasons: 1. The raw material contains impurities; 2. The inner wall between the mouth and the core is not cleaned; 3. The local temperature is too high, which causes aging.
Solution: 1. Check the raw materials; 2. Clean up or transition for a period of time; 3. Check the temperature sensor
Surface dimples
Reasons: 1. Tide of raw materials and bursting of air bubbles; 2. Uneven water volume of sizing sleeve.
Solution: 1. Raw material drying; 2. Adjust water volume or replace sizing sleeve
Fourth, the surface bright spots
Reason: Insufficient water in sizing sleeve.
Solution: Increase the sizing sleeve water volume or replace the sizing sleeve with large water volume
Five, the inner and outer walls are axially rough
Reason: The water content of the raw material is too high.
Solution: raw material drying
Six, the surface is not shiny
Reason: Inappropriate melt temperature or problem with raw materials
Solution: adjust the melt temperature or replace the raw materials
Seven, scratches on the outer surface
Reason: sand, gravel, sizing, support plate or seal ring
Solution: Clean the calibration sleeve, support plate or seal
Outer surface waterline
Cause: The local water eye of the sizing sleeve is clogged, resulting in excessive water volume in individual water eyes.
Solution: Clean the calibration sleeve
Nine, inner wall grooves (mostly in thick-walled pipes)
Reason: The wall thickness is too thick, it is difficult for the melt to cool and flow.
Solution: Try the central cooling system to reduce the temperature of the mouth and core.
Ten, uneven wall thickness
Reasons: 1. Loose mouth or core touch bolts are loose and the gap adjustment is not suitable; 2. The temperature of the mouth or core touch is uneven, resulting in inconsistent material flow; 3. Misalignment of the sizing sleeve and the mouth touch, spiral shunt shuttle Screen is clogged.
Solution: 1. Tighten the bolts or adjust the gap between the mouth and the mouth; 2. Check the heating ring and the temperature sensor; 3. Adjust the sizing sleeve and the mouth to center the shunt or screen.
Eleven, low elongation at break
Reasons: 1. Bad raw materials; 2. Increased orientation and increased cleanliness
Solution: 1. Adjust the process temperature to strengthen the plasticizing effect; 2. Increase the distance between the mouth and the sizing sleeve.
12. Ovality is large:
Reason: gravity
Solution: Add correction device
Only when the PE pipe manufacturer establishes strict operating procedures and process regulations and strengthens the process and control, can the purpose of controlling the quality of the pipe material and reasonably reduce the production cost be achieved.
